History of sex toys (1800-today)

1844- Rubber was volcanised...making it stronger and more elastic...this will later be used in the making of condoms and dildos

1869- You guys will all like this one im sure...i studied it in Womens studies last year...and this is the first vibrator...
In these days it was believed that "female insanity" known as sexual pleasure today was in need of a cure and to begin with doctors would use thier own hands to stimulate the vulva until release was met....(orgasm). Then one special doctor decided the needs for this treatment were becoming too great of a need and he created a large awkward machine...to perform this treatment..it was powered by steam.

1882- The first electromechanical vibrator was invented...smaller and less cumbersome than the previous steam powered one ....these were small battery powered massagers containing attachements kinda like the ones that come with todays vibrators but the man inventing these felt that they werent good for womens hysteria but to massage the males skeletal muscles...what do these guys know:P

1890's- invention of motion picture..which means soon everyone was making pornography containing women using strap ons and dildos

1899-First advertisement for a home vibrator as a cure for headaches , wrinkles etc

1900-1920- Vibrators were sold in many places for women as an "aid every woman apperciates

1907- A penis stiffner....a hollow metal cylinder with an opening at one side for insertion of the penis and a little hole at the other to allow sperm to enter the vagina...designed for men with erection problems

1921- The first ad for vibrators aimed towards men to purchase one for their wives to prevent any of that women hysteria they keep talking about

1925- The term striptease was introduced where the performers would strip down to nipple covers and g-strings interplaying with props such as furs etc and eventually costumes

1927-KY jelly was intorduced to ease womens comfort during internal exams...trust me ... it doesnt make them any more comfortable!!

1929- Vibrators become more popular in porn....as masturbating aids

1930's- Vibrators disappear from local advertisements...it became hard to pronounce them as innocent massagers anymore; they were branded immoral and quickly disappeared

The formation of latex rubber...lighter, softer and more pliable..resulting in better condoms

1948-Invention of the polaroid camera and this allowed everyone to becoem ertic photographers!

1952-Hysteria was declared not to be an ailment and the vibrator had been acknowledged for its REAL use

1953-Playboy magazine entered the shelf! It began the way for x-rated media as we know it today although back then it was pretty tame.

1965- Re-emerging of the vibrator..cant keep a good toy hidden for too long:P

1970- Waterbeds became to be considered sex-enhancing and were put into the playboy mansion

late 1970's- Invention of the camcorder; people began producing porn in the privacy of their own homes

1990- A law outlawing sex toys.....punishable by jail time or heavy fines...a few years later the law was overturned despite the pleas that women do not have a constitutional right to use sex toys

1998- The rabbit vibrator makes a debut on television.....sex toys are full in running now:D
